Lilbuda's Lil Guide

Lilbuda’s Lil Guide

Welcome to Lilbuda’s player’s guide. The goal of this guide is not to make you great, or to lead you to riches, I leave that to you. No, the goal is to help you transition into what may very well be the most unique text-based game out there. I know once you have joined our community you will say to yourself, “Self, this isn’t that unique.” Well what makes us unique isn’t the feature we have (most of them exist in other games I’m sure you’ve played). No it is how we have put them together that makes us different. Anyway that is enough of that, Ladies & Gentlemen… I present to you… Evolution Sphere!

Index

  1. Creating you very own God (ok so that would be false)
  2. Moving Around is simple… It’s getting anywhere that I have trouble with

And then there was Man…or Woman!

First let us begin with the fact that this is, at its heart an RPG (Role Playing Game). Quite simply that means you create characters and control them in a virtual world. Normally in an RPG you run around and kill things or each other. Maybe you go and perform tasks for NPCs (Non-Player Character) and get rewards. Or, you gain levels to get stronger and faster and… blah, blah, blah. Don’t worry you get to do all that in Evolution Sphere, but not like you are thinking so put down your swords and wash off your war paint, it isn’t time for that yet.

The first part to any RPG is creating your character. Remember this is the virtual you, or who you want to be. I will take for granted that name, description, gender and handedness are obvious, if you do need guidance for those then I warn you that this game may seem rather complex. The first real choice you have to make is the starter pack. Now I can see you asking yourself, “Self, What is a starter pack?” Well I am here to answer that question. Starter packs are a little something to come into the game with, It’s not a lot but it will get you “Started”. These pack are sort of class specific, not that there are classes in this game but it can help you focus on things you want to focus on. So the fighter pack gives you a couple weapons and some credits (Cold hard Cash). The engineer pack gives you workstations and credits and the Business pack gives you credits and some stocks.

So now you’ve created the first half of your character, so to speak. That means you are ready to place Attributes. Now every RPG has some version of attributes and these are the classic 6. The attributes are as follows:

Physical Attributes

STR (Strength)- This attribute effect your attack and accuracy, it also determines how much you can hold. This is a must for most any hack & slash type player, if you plan on killing everything in a room I would put lots of points here.

DEX (Dexterity)- This attribute effects your defense and the number of attacks you will get per round. This is another must have for you hack & slashers but also for you more cautious fighter types, the ones who actually look before they swing. For a balanced fighter you’ll want point here.

CON (Constitution)- This attribute could very make or break your fighting character. I know that isn’t fair, I’ve told how important the last two were to fighters and know this. This attribute directly effects your max HP (Hit Points) and your ability to regenerate lost HP, for free.

Mental Attributes

INT (Intelligence)- This attribute effects your ability to create and learn. Which means it could have direct effects on learning skill, hmm maybe… Lets put it this way if you want to make something new in the game or go to college, you better make sure this is high enough or it ain’t (that’s not a word) gonna (neither is that) happen.

WIS (Wisdom)- This attribute is a little tougher to explain, no not really. It affects your ability to build and repair things and it also has some effect on your learning ability. So, you will want both of these to be the super engineer.

CHR (Charisma)- This attribute is quite possibly the most under used and overlooked attribute of all time. Well not anymore (maybe), this one will effect the price you are paying with NPCs (Non-Player Characters), if you have a low number here you will pay more at the NPC shops than what the base price says. You also won’t get as much for selling to an NPC. If you want to be a business man or a well rounded technician or even a self-managed sports star (oh yes we will have them too). You want strong numbers here. Basically, if you plan on dealing with money, I wouldn’t over look this attribute.

You have 60 (only 54 can be placed by you) Attribute Points to start on your character’s attributes. These attributes give the character’s their strengths and weaknesses. Your character can not start with more than 20 points in any attribute and they must have at least a 1 in each. Note: After you enter the game you will be able to train for more attributes, but can only advance 10 points above the number you start with i.e. a 20 can advance to 30, a 5 to 15. (You will also be able to go even higher, with custom equipment and working as a test subject)

Remember your character’s attributes will affect almost everything that happens to them in the game. Those six numbers could be the most important numbers you have in the game (Well after that first 10 million in the bank, that 30th person to join you guild, the 100 in skills…). But, that as they say is that. To recap, look at what you want your character to be able to do. Make sure that you put points in the right Attributes to get the strengths you want. And, most importantly, I can’t stress this part enough… Press the create button, after all you can’t make a character if you don’t hit that.

      Getting your sea legs!

‘Welcome aboard Mate’ Oh wait wrong game, let’s back up… where was I? Okay, so you made your character and now you want to do something them. Once you have a character you can go to the character select screen and click the ‘enter’ button under their name… that will bring you into the game play itself. We will get to that in just a sec because I know that is where you want to be but, it would be an injustice if I didn’t point out the hard work on that character selection page. From there you can view the latest news, this wonderful guide, learn all about the staff and go into your own account. Also you can view the statistics of the website and see who is online. So, now you can click the ‘enter’ button under your character’s name.

When you click the ‘enter’ button you are brought to the main playing page. There are several features that you can always see, such as the following: Character information, Navigation choices, Online list, Character search and all the way on the other side of the screen is the communications. Clickable text is underlined and you move around using those features. You are able to change your chat frequency by using the drop down box (assuming you have any frequencies to change to).

Now clicking on My Character brings up several options, these are all for the character that is on right now. When you click that it will bring up all your current character information on the main screen (the center), from here you can equip items and view your inventory. Note: you can learn more about any item in the game by clicking on its name. This is also an easy spot to check your mailbox.

The next button down (before you click the ‘my character’ button) is the Explore button. This button will whisk you away to places unknown… well maybe not so exotic but it does bring you to Miracle City. From this screen you simply click the link and have at it. Most everything is explained when you click it so, I won’t go into every link but that is the basic moving around in the game. The only thing left is when you are done with that character and want to switch you simply click the character selection link.
